The New Leaders Council of Columbus 2018 Fellows invite you to commemorate “614 Day” with a celebration of diverse, young voices in civic affairs.
Join us from 6 to 8 pm at Olde Oak in the historic neighborhood of Olde Town East on Thursday, June 14 alongside community leaders.
Tickets are $25 for pre-sale at http://columbus.newleaderscouncil.org/cf2018
and $30 at the door — sponsorships are also available.
We're proud to host two keynote speakers: Rob Richardson, statewide candidate for Treasurer of Ohio, former board chair of the University of Cincinnati, and engineer-turned-labor lawyer; and Rhiannon Childs, Executive Director of Women’s March Ohio, Planned Parenthood advocate, and 2018 NLC Fellow. Two additional 2018 Fellows will serve as evening emcees: solar energy entrepreneur and community developer Laura Recchie and arts educator and social worker Reginald Harris. Our program will start promptly at 6:45 PM.
We are the new Central Ohio affiliate of the New Leaders Council, a national nonprofit investing in a generation of diverse Millennials committed to advancing social justice, equal opportunity, and strong democracy. Our inaugural cohort of Fellows participates in a six-month Institute, equipping them with skills, knowledge, networks, and mentorship to engage in public life as political candidates, campaign managers, policy advocates, social entrepreneurs, organizers of activists, and socially-conscious industry leaders.
Our program is free, relying on a “pay it forward” model whereby Fellows use their new fundraising skills to put on an event like this that covers the cost of next year’s cohort. In fact, applications are open for our 2018-2019 cohort. Learn more about us here: http://columbus.newleaderscouncil.org/
Parking is available in a lot across the street on Oak and on the street on and around Oak.
