Celebrate the grand opening of the largest horticultural project in Conservatory history as The ScottsMiracle-Gro Foundation Children's Garden is unveiled May 19th!
Remarks will begin at 9:30am, as Bruce Harkey, Conservatory president and CEO, and Cindy Tyler, the lead designer from Terra Design Studios, introduce this highly anticipated project. The gates to the Children's Garden will open promptly after remarks.
The 2-acre Children's Garden features a collection of interactive experiences paying homage to Ohio's landscape. The space includes a colorful rainbow-themed entrance with stained glass archway for all visitors, and a living willow tunnel for kids, a trickling waterfall leading to a naturalized wet...land area and a rope bridge leading to a hammock overlook, a pocket garden for musical performances near the puppet show stage and another for quiet reading sessions near the outdoor library, an educational pavilion with nearby edible garden beds, an all-natural playhouse with a living roof, faery gardens, a whisper bench, and so much more.
The Children’s Garden supports the Conservatory’s outreach and education mission by promoting active learning for all ages, with emphasis on health and the natural sciences. It is part of the Conservatory's long term plan to ensure the sustainability of the organization for generations to come.
