What? Guerilla Chamber Music empowers musicians to play music with others, perform in community spaces, and create their own artistic opportunities.
Who? Ohio State musicians of any age, ability, and field of study. Musicians are placed in ensembles through a casual audition process to create impactful performance opportunities for all.
Where? Coffee shops. Hospitals. Galleries. Student unions. Classroom buildings. Outdoor patios. Grocery stores. Prisons. Everywhere and the kitchen sink. Guerrilla Chamber Music transforms daily spaces into concert halls, empowering our musicians to share their music with our community.
When? Guerilla Chamber Music was piloted as a project of CELLOHIO, Ohio State’s cello ensemble, with energizing success. Now in Spring 2018, CELLOHIO is building a team to elevate the project to an independent student organization. By Fall 2018, the student organization will be established and operating.
Why? To continue connection to music making for college students. To empower student musicians to innovate and create their own artistic opportunities. To build career and professional skills. To create performances for the student community, by the student community. To provide regular and diverse performance opportunities for student musicians. To engage our community with the arts in casual, welcoming spaces.
How? We need your help to build a collaborative leadership team for the student organization. We need your ideas and perspective to build an effective organization, structure, and programming.
