A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down! Learn to use sweet to make even bitter herbs palatable!
This is one of eight classes taught by local herbalist Lily Kunning (formerly of Boline Apothecary) focused on medicine making in the western herbal tradition.
This class makes sweetened medicines: syrups, elixirs, oxymels, honeys, and electuaries. We will be learning the different ways to infuse plant medicines into sweet mediums and the differences between electuaries and honeys, syrups and elixirs, and what the heck an oxymel is!
This class is a hands-on workshop, meaning students will make and take home projects. Please bring a pen and paper for note taking and wear clothes that are OK getting dirty! You'll leave with not only a product that you made, but recipes for other projects.
This class is $45 and pre-registration is necessary.
