Erica Blinn returns home to Columbus and is excited to once again grace the stage at Natalie's for a night of rock-n-roll songs and whiskey drinks, all in efforts to celebrate her new album Better Than Gold, to be released on February 16 on Curry House Records.
It may have taken Blinn over four years to prepare her new album for release to the world, but she knows the wait will be worth it. Between relocating to Nashville, logging thousands of miles in her '92 GMC van and playing hundreds of shows, Blinn and her band worked hard to find windows of time to lay down 11 new tracks, and they did so both in Columbus and in Nashville.
Once again, Blinn enlisted the talents of Mike Landolt, who produced Lovers In The Dust, her debut 2014 release. Better Than Gold sees Blinn once again embrace her rock-n-roll heritage (her father and uncle toured for 10+ years in a biker band), it also sees her push her sound into new realms as well. From moments of Motown horns on «Don't You Be Lonely», to the unique scorch of Jack White inspired tremolo guitars on the heavier «Loving' You», to the Nashville influenced twang on «Gypsy», this hook-laden LP will be sure to please the modern American music fan.
