Black River Gypsies is lead by singer and front man Matthew O. Sullivan. Through his rural roots, traveled history, and love of a good story comes the sound that is BRG. The group combines the smiling hard luck of bluegrass, the toe tapping of the blues, and a love of narrative popularized by the great folklorists of the last century.
“We’re an Americana band that’s certainly got it’s blues influences. We play everything from a slow, classic-jazz-blues thing to really loud — almost like Black Keys-type stuff.” -Matthew
The Gypsies will be joined by the local sweetness of The Salty Caramels!
Their show is nostalgic and fun with a mix of unique instrumentation such as ukulele, musical saw, and glockenspiel, as well as buttery three-part harmonies. The Salties have an old-school vibe with their catchy indie and pop rock tunes.
Doors at 9pm, show at 10!
