One Asian Nation is an annual charity banquet that is hosted by the Asian American Association to bring the OSU Asian and Asian American community together for a night of cultural exchange and celebration. This is a night for campus leaders and student organizations to embrace our differences and come together as a united community while two selected candidates will be chosen as winners at the event. After receiving the title, the winners will receive a budget from OAN proceeds to work with and invest into a non-profit organization as well as receiving a monetary award scholarship of $100.
Suitable candidates for OAN 2018: A World to Come are those who are passionate for and knowledgeable of the Asian and Asian American history, dedicated in uplifting the social injustices affecting the community, articulate in discourse, and are academically inclined. The contestants are competing to create visibility for underrepresented communities here at OSU and to uplift a charity with a mission that they are passionate about.
As a role model for the A/APIDA (Asian/Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) community, the contestants will be selected on the following criteria:
— Submission of completed application
— Organizational involvement
— Interview with panel
— Appropriate talent (has not been previously performed and must be less than 2 minutes)
Applications will be due on Saturday, 11:59PM EST, November 25th, 2017, it will be reviewed by a panel. Selected individuals will be invited to a short interview session on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 and be asked to provide us a brief demonstration/video of the talent they plan on showcasing along with a letter of endorsement from their representative organization.
**Only current, officially registered Ohio State University students are applicable. Previous candidates, but not recipients, are also eligible to apply.**
