Columbus Landmarks Foundation and Friends of Green Lawn Cemetery are pleased to offer seasonal walking tours featuring the art, architecture, and botanical features of this very special park. Central Ohio’s preeminent 19th century cemetery reflects the roots of the Cemetery Beautiful Movement in New England. Green Lawn encompasses more than 200 years of Columbus history, stories, and architectural preferences, and is home to champion trees, diverse old growth species, and wildlife.

The Summer Walk will be held on Sunday, July 30 from 2-4 pm.and will be led by historian Doreen Uhas Sauer and naturalist Randy Rogers. Following the tour, participants are invited to nearby Green Lawn Abbey for refreshments and a rare opportunity to see inside this neo-classical pillared mausoleum listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Kate Matheny, President of Friends of Green Lawn Abbey, will be our host.
The Summer Walk at Green Lawn Cemetery begins at the Huntington Chapel, located past the office at the end of the road. Tickets are $10 for Friends of Green Lawn and/or Columbus Landmarks Foundation members and $15 for non-members.
