Live music by Future Nuns before the screening! Set starts at 8 PM.
The Wexner Center brings the big screen outside for Wex Drive-In, our annual series of free, open-air film screenings on the Wexner Center Plaza.
All Wex Drive-In movies start at dusk (generally around 9 pm) and the bands play at 8 pm. Pack up a few blankets or lawn chairs, and get ready to enjoy food from Sunnyside Tacos, beer from Seventh Son Brewing, and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. We'll also have music from Radio 614 and a vinyl pop-up shop courtesy of Elizabeth's Records. Members, visit the Wex membership table for a free scoop of ice cream and other perks.
All the more poignant with David Bowie’s passing last year, Ziggy Stardust brilliantly documents the artist’s final performance as this gender-bending, red-mulleted alter-ego at London’s Hammersmith Odeon in 1973. Bowie-as-Ziggy belts out such hits as “Changes,” “All the Young Dudes,” and “Oh! You Pretty Things,” as well as bracing covers of the Velvet Underground’s “White Light/White Heat” and the Rolling Stones’ “Let’s Spend the Night Together.” All the epochal bravado onstage (and mounting tension backstage, as the band didn’t get the memo) is intimately captured by filmmaker D. A. Pennebaker and his camera crew. (91 mins., 35mm)
