PBJ Connections is opening our staff trainings to the community for free. Join us to learn more about the basics of Deaf culture and ASL.
Dawn Watts is a member of the Deaf community and has spent a lifetime working on leadership for deaf youth, working with deaf/blind people, and as an advocate for deaf women.
In this workshop, you will learn how to use facial expression or gesture communication and the following objectives will be met:
1 -To understand better that a Deaf child or person’s first language is «vision»
2 — How does ASL help deaf person? Or does it?
3 — Differences between the Deaf World vs Hearing World
4 — Encounter communication
Trainings are held at PBJ Connections office and are free to the community. EAGALA and Social Work CEU’s are available.
