Alan Shields: A New Kind of Painting & Stitch

Beeler Gallery presents two new exhibitions: Alan Shields: A New Kind of Painting and Stitch.
Alan Shields: A New Kind of Painting features more than 25 of Shields’ textile works, including several pieces that have never been seen before.
Stitch features textile work from artists who share the late Alan Shields’ affinity for paintings made from textiles. Artists in the exhibition include Simon Fujiwara, Channing Hansen, Alana Iturralde,
Oscar Murillo, Paulina Olowska, Frances Trombly, and Brent Wadden, among others.
The exhibitions open Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, and run through Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Beeler Gallery, the main public exhibition space at Columbus College of Art & Design.
All events and exhibitions at Beeler Gallery are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It’s closed Monday.
